Favorite Photo | Moth On Glass

by Jasmine L
(Florida)

Hi, my name is Jasmine and I'm 13 years old. I am a home school student in Jacksonville Florida. I love to travel to different places all over the world. I was born on Switzerland and since then have internationally traveled to Spain, France, Germany, Holland, and Guatemala. I usually just take pictures just for fun, or for good memories of the places I visited.

One of my all time favorite photos is "moth on glass" which was taken at a nature reserve in Guatemala... I saw this moth sitting on some glass, and I thought, this is a very fine moth, I should take a picture of it! I greatly surprised myself in taking such a nice photo.

The camera I used was a Canon PowerShot SD1200, not a fancy one, but it still takes great pictures.

Great job Jasmine. You've been to a lot of places. Your picture of a moth is great. Did you consider cropping the picture? If you cropped it (making the moth bigger) the viewer will be able to see more of the detail in the moth's wings. You did a great job to capture this moth. They are very quick and hard to capture. Did you wait until it landed or were you just in the right place at the right time? Best of luck to you as you continue your travels and please keep sharing your picture with us!

I LOVE MOTHS! NEW
by: Anonymous

I have been to Guatemala and I also went to a nature preserve at Lake Atitlan where they have three volcanoes. I love moths and butterflies and all kinds of bugs that turn into other things. So I appreciate the love you have for your photo. It looks like the moth is in focus. That is very important in photography. And I can clearly tell that the moth is the subject of the picture and that is also good. Good job with this picture. I will look for a moth or a butterfly on a piece of glass and try to do the same thing you did. I like that it was taken on a piece of glass. I think that helps to make it more interesting. I would have given this 5 stars but I have to be very careful about when I give that many stars. But four stars is real good!
